of course! Your prom hair needs to accentuate your dress, your
make-up, and your face. There is no one hairstyle or color that will
work for every woman, but there is a look that is just right for you.
So you don’t know where to get started? Well here you can find tons
of styles for short, shoulder length and long hair. Also hair do’s
and dont’s and other great tips to get you looking your best on prom
night!

Tip #1- Always wash your hair then blow-dry. A little mousse at the
roots will add volume.

Now that your hair is all clean, you are ready to get started.

But first consider these tips:

• Find you face shape
-Oval-
Tip #2- to add width (not length) to your face
Do: cut layers or bangs and try a side part
Don’t: cut short layers at the crown of your head

-Round/Heart-
• Tip #3- to add more length to your circular face
Do: cut long, face framing layers
Don’t: cut above ear level

-Square-
• Tip #4- To round out your jaw and hairline
Do: cut forehead sweeping bangs
Don’t: cut a blunt haircut; ask your stylist to us a razor at your ends

Remember those are just tips to consider!

• Tip #5- Keep a picture of your dress or you in the dress in your purse.
*This will come in handy at all causes*

If you’re less than 5’4” or have a short dress, try a short or
mid-length cut. That way any short or shoulder length style that we
have is achievable.
*Styles that fall between your ears and shoulders, make you look
taller (long hair hides your body).*

If you’re between 5‘4” and 5’8” try any length, lucky for you, your
hair won’t affect how tall or short you look.

If you’re over 5’8” try EXTREME lengths. Super short cut will make
your body look shapelier.
*long, sleek cuts have a slimming effect!*

NOTE: Layers should be trimmed every 3 to 4 weeks and Longer layers
every 6 to 8 weeks.

Choose a Style (shoulder length/long)

Wear it down
If you want your hair curly or wavy, set it with a curling iron or
hot rollers. *trendy look- smooth on top and curls at the ends* Keep
your curls below ear level. DO NOT brush your hair; let your fingers
do all the styling (once setup cools). Complete this style with
hairspray for an extra hold.

If you are going for a straight look, use a straightening iron. Do
hair section to section, from roots to the ends. Avoid stopping in
one area to risk burning your tresses.

Wear it in a ponytail
• Tip #6- If your hair tends to slip and slide, apply a little gel
before you style.
If you want some height up front try a little teasing.
*Teasing Trick- hold the section of hair straight up, then take your
comb or brush from the ends to roots. Repeat until you have the hair
height you want!*

Now pull your hair back into a high, low or side pony depending on
how your dress is made and secure with a covered elastic band.

Halter gown- high pony
Strapless gown- low or side pony
One strap- side pony on opposite side of strap

*Trendy look- the side ponytail!*

• Tip #7- Add a jeweled clip or hide the band with a section of hair.
To do this: take a section of hair about an inch wide from the bottom
or your ponytail and wrap it around the band. Then anchor the ends
under your pony with a bobby pin.

• Tip #8- Spritz any teasing and the sides to keep style remaining in place.

Wear it half up
• Tip #9- Wearing your hair half-up will not only bring attention to
your face but will also allow you to show of f your fabulous earrings.

Step 1- Blow out your hair
*Blow-dry trick- part hair into 4 sections, one section
at a time, using a thick round brush from roots to end, straightening
as you go.

Step 2-Take a section of hair at your fore head or your crown and
gently tease it to give it some height (remember the tease trick).
Finally smooth over the top layer of the teased section.

Step 3- Secure the teased area with a little French twist—work from
top and tuck the ends at the bottom, of hold it in place with a
pretty barrette.

• Tip #10- to keep hair height all night, give the teased area a
spritz of hairspray.

Wear an UPDO
• Tip #11- The updo secret- shampooing the hair a day before because
“just washed hair” can slip and slide and be more difficult to style.

3 most popular ways to pull off the classic hair-do:
Curl and pin- Curl your hair, section by section , with a curling
iron, then pin up each piece with a bobby pin.

Chignon- Pull your hair into a low ponytail but instead of let it
hang loose, twist the ponytail itself and pin in place with bobby
pins.

The Twist- Pull your hair back to the nape of your neck (as if you
were going to make a low ponytail) and twist hair up and pin into
place with bobby pins.

NOTE: Updo’s and gravity don’t mix, so be sure to spritz on plenty of
hairspray to keep your style in place.

• Tip #12- Stash extra bobby pins in your purse to pin back any
strands that may fall.

stretch curls and straighten roots. Undo bun when it is completely
dry.

that vary in sizes to create random waves.
